I thought this interview by Jono Linebaugh (Assistant Professor of New Testament at Knox Theological Seminary) of Paul Tripp and Elyse Fitzpatrick was helpful. It’s geared more for parents but the principles transfer to all relationships. It’s well worth the 20 minutes of your time.
